Overview of Our Research

In the Visual Cognition Lab, we are interested in processes associated with perception, attention and visual memory.

We focus on the involvement of visual attention in processing objects, scenes and words, as well as on attentional necessity to the integration of several items within a global contextual setting. The effects of context on object recognition, and on memory for objects’ visual appearance are additionally examined, both in young and old adults. Other areas studied in the lab are object size perception and its linkage to related magnitude representations, and psychophysiological detection of concealed information.
